Reduce your use of bags
Bring your own bag - BYOB
Develop a BYOB system that works for you. Your can first dig through your closets and gather ALL the bags and old backpacks that have been waiting to be used. Review each one for size and capacity, construction cleanliness and disrepair. (Discard, clean or repair as necessary).
Arrange bags for different uses such as the grocery store (heavy load or light), general shopping, just in case shopping, other item or book carrying capacity, etc. Then put some bags in the trunk of your car, in your office desk, hung on your doorknob or coat rack. You might also want to gather some compact bags and place some of them in the grocery shopping bags for fruit and vegetable and others in your purse or glove compartment.
It might be a good idea to assign the task of remembering and bringing the bags to your children.
