Smart Transportation
Getting to the places you need to go doesn't always need to include cars or gasoline. Sometimes, if you make good plans, it can involve walking, biking, the bus or train
and even car pooling. If you do need to use a car you can consider signing up with a car sharing program. But if you must drive do all you can to ensure your car is in the best running condition possible.
If you do drive:
Car Care - Whether gas prices are high or low a car kept in good condition will burn gas more cleanly, run better and last longer.
Smart Car Use - Learning and using fuel efficient driving techniques will reduce greenhouse gases, pollution in general and could save you hundreds of dollars in fuels costs no matter the price of fuel.
Buying a new or used car - When its time to look for a new car you'll probably want to search for one that is reliable, efficient, well-priced and high mileage.
Drive less:
Bikes and Cycling - Cycling is great for your health and your pocketbook.
Walking - Remember the pleasures of walking - with family and kids, early in morning, after a nice meal, evening strolls and even walking for exercise.
Public Transportation - Let someone else do the driving! Enjoy the cost effective, fuel efficient and on-time benefits of modern mass transportation systems.
Car sharing - Save thousands of dollars by NOT owning a car. Car sharing is new and growing.
Car Pooling - Carpooling reduces the costs involved in daily or long distance driving by sharing the drive with one or more people.
